A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding displayed a slow recovery rate. Trainer said that in his opinion the gelding failed to handle the increased distance today and should this preparation continue would be restricted to shorter distance races.

7 MOOK BOBS Silver Bonus Scheme 6/01/2020 Gunnedah Was difficult to load into the barriers, was slow to begin, then tailed the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Trainer was advised that prior to racing again, the gelding must be able to be loaded into the barrier in a timely fashion, then compete satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. Passed trial.

A post-race vet exam revealed the gelding which was beaten 32 lengths to be lame (2/5) in the near hind leg. Traer was advised that a vet clearnce ill be required prior to being permitted to race or trial again. Clearance received.
2 GOLDEN BOY 8/05/2020 Coffs Harbour On return to scale the gelding was showing symptoms of heat stress and tying up. The gelding was treated by the clubs veterinary officer. Tnr was advised that the gelding requires a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start. Tnr advised that a blood test on the gelding in the days following the event revealed no abnormality. Clearance received.

8 NIGHTMARE BOBS Silver Bonus Scheme 19/05/2020 Port Macquarie Placed 4th, protested against 1st & 2nd, both dismissed. Laid out under pressure in the early part of the home straight, then was carried inwards near the 250m, then passing the 200m had to be eased when crowded.
10 HOT DREAMER 24/05/2020 Muswellbrook Scratched on the advice of the RacingNSW Official Veterinarian after the mare was kicked by another runner at the start, subsequently dislodging its rider and galloping rider less for some distance.
11 HYPERLINK BOBS Silver Bonus Scheme 12/05/2020 Taree Rider reported that his instructions were to be where comfortable with cover, said that he raced further back than intended as to not to be caught wide without cover, said that mount raced okay throughout the early and middle stages, but when placed under pressure, it only responded fairly and ran to the line in a moderate manner. He further added that his mount would take benefit from todays performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

9 CANTERBURY KING (NZ) 5/06/2018 Warrnambool Jumped the 16th obstacle awkwardly and knuckled on landing. Made a faulty jump at the 18th obstacle and fell. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding identified the presence of blood in the left nostril. In the opinion of the Stewards such bleeding was attributable to external trauma. Trainer will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance before the horse is accepted to race or trial. Clearance received.

9 HERZEGOVINA 23/05/2020 Mudgee Laid out over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the gelding, rider stated that he was instructed to have the gelding in a forward position with cover. He said that after beginning well and showing good early speed, he elected to allow his mount to continue to stride forward under minimal pressure, whereby the gelding was able to lead at a comfortable tempo. Stewards accepted the explanation of rider.

Add after following that rnr was disappointed for clear running near 300m when another rnr shift out, which resulted in geld being held up for a short dist. Add, inside the 200m geld again raced in restricted room between rnr’s & as a result couldn’t fully test geld until near 50m. Tnr confirmed instructions issued to rdr.

18e THE LION 20/05/2020 Kensington From a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 300m, blundered and then had to be shifted wider on the track between the 300m and 200m to continue into clear running.
