When questioned regarding the performance rider explained the gelding which was having its first start in a clockwise direction was on the wrong leg throughout and was inclined to hang out rounding the turns. He added when placed under pressure only responded fairly. He added the gelding would take benefit from having its first race start in a clockwise direction. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

5 HOULIO’S DREAM 9/01/2020 Wagga Hung out when placed under pressure between the 500m and 200m & proved difficult to ride. Trainer was advised a warning would be recorded against the geld. When quest rethe perfor rdr expl geld travelled well throughout. Add when the geld commenced to hang out when placed under pressure however passing the 200m commenced to respond to his riding and found the line fairly. Add gelding may be better suited racing with the application of Blinkers. Trnr adv the geld which had missed some fast work due to poor air quality in the area & attributed this to the performance. Post race vet no abs.

5 SIZZLEONTHEBRIDGE 25/01/2020 Forbes When questioned regarding today’s improved performance, trainer stated that gelding benefited for being second up going into today’s race. He said that the gelding had pleased him in its work this preparation and was not disappointed with the gelding’s performance at Wagga 9th January 2020, given its first up record. He added that the gelding also benefited in being able to lead today’s event and control the tempo in front.
6 THIS SKILLED CAT 14/01/2020 Corowa Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Held up and unable to improve between the 400m until passing the 200m. Bumped with a runner near the 200m when attempting to improve into a narrow run.
8 STAR OF THE CLAN 2/02/2020 Sapphire Coast Q'd regarding the performance of the mare, rider stated that his mount was under pressure from the 500m did not respond to his riding thereafter and was heavy in its breathing. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare did not reveal any abnormality. Trainer was asked to report on the progress of the mare in the days subsequent. Trnr reported horse pulled up fine will continue with prep.

11 OCEAN HERO 23/01/2020 Wangaratta Performed below market expectations. Rider Blaike McDougall could offer no explanation for the geldings performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
13 FALLING WATERS 14/12/2019 Albury Stewards permitted rider to ride the mare 1/2kg overweight due to the late notification of the ride. When questioned regarding the mare settling further back than anticipated rider explained the mare jumped well and for the early part of the event settled in a handy position however passing the 900m commenced to give ground despite being urged a long to maintain its position. He added when it became apparent, he was not going to be able to hold his position he elected to allow the mare to settle back in the field and whereby the mare found the line well when pressured in the straight.
14 ROCKY HIGH 14/01/2020 Corowa Was declared a late scratching acting on veterinary advice at 4.04pm after dislodging a plate resulting in a nail being penetrated in its near fore hoof and found to be lame (1/5) in that leg.Trainer was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness must be submitted prior to racing again. Vet clearance received.
16e FRAMEWORK 18/01/2020 Tumut Rider was questioned regarding the performance. He stated that after jumping well from a wide barrier, his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event while also racing keenly. He added that he believed the gelding did not handle the tight turning track today. A post-veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Near the 700 metres was bumped and carried out by Royal Roulette, which shifted out. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

A post-race vet exam of the mare did not reveal any abnorm.
6 GOTTA WANT IT 12/10/2019 Royal Randwick Slow to begin. Raced wide and without cover from the 800m. Rdr advised after enduring a wide run mnt did not finish race off as expected. A post-race vet exam revealed the mare to be 2/5 lame in the near foreleg. Tnr advised a vet clearance is required prior to next race/barrier trial. Vet clearance since received.
7 JAWWAAL 21/01/2020 Wagga Raced keenly outside the leader despite the efforts of its rider. Rider reported she was instructed to race in the lead or take a sit if the tempo was strong. Add when runner raced to her inside she endeavoured to take a trailing position however was unable to get the gelding to take a sit. She added this was the principal reason for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Stewards sought an explanation from rider in regards to riding in mid stages when runners were able to improve to his inside near the 600m. Rdr exp he was going to be unable to obtain cover he allowed his mount to settle where comfortable as was instruct to not settle too far back in the field. Add the horse does not appreciate racing between rnrs.Stewards told rdr that in the mid stages of the event his ride lacked judgement & must in future ride mounts in a more competitive manner
