A post-race veterinary examination of the filly did not reveal any abnormality however it was noted that the filly had lost its near-fore plate.

12 PUSHKAR 2/05/2019 Wagga Slow to begin and crowded shortly after. Rider stated that she was issued with no specific instructions. Added after receiving interference at start, she then settled back. She said she did not appear to observe a run develop in front and shortly after was held up. She said that as a result, she elected to shift back to the inside approaching the 200m however again was held up. She said that she was unable to improve until inside the 100m after shifting to the outside, where her mount finished its race of satisfactorily.

14 WITHORN 3/05/2019 Wagga Slow to begin crowded shortly after. Near the 800m was steadied away from heels. Near the 100m was steadied when crowded. When questioned, rider stated that it was his intention to race prominently but when his mount lost ground at the start, he was obliged to settle back in the field. Added geld travelled well in early & middle stages & had difficulty obtaining clear running in straight but added once clear near the 100m he was satisfied with the manner in which it finished its race off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

She added in her opinion the gelding was not totally comfortable on the soft track. A post-race veterinary examination did not detect any abnormalities.

When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer advised the gelding is a horse that normally takes several runs after a spell to gain peak fitness. He added that the improvement in fitness, the application of blinkers and the rain affected track all contributed to its improved performance today.

11 OLD MAN’S ANGEL 20/10/2018 Wagga Rider stated his mount travelled well until the 800m and was immediately off the bit from the 600m. He added as he became concerned with the gelding’s action, he eased it down in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which was beaten 69 lengths, failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer stated the horse would now be spelled. Notwithstanding this advice, Trainer was advised that the gelding will be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards before being permitted to race again. trialled kembla 17/3
