Qd re riding on the home turn Rdr std mount travelled strongly into the race and he had initially commenced to improve between Rnrs. He said that when the run did not eventuate, he became held up for some distance until near the 300m where he was able to secure running at that point. Add that under pressure over the final 300m, was inclined to lay in, which proved a little difficult to ride out to the finish.
7 SEMPER FIDELIS BOBS Extra Bonus Scheme 4/05/2019 Kensington COT; to be ridden further forward – settled on pace. Rider reported after hanging in from the H/T, he was then held up behind a weakening rnr until near the 200m & this resulted in the momentum of mount being impeded. Added in his view, is one-paced & this was one of the explanations for its disappointing performance. Post-race vet exam rev no abs.

3 ZOURKHAN (IRE) 27/04/2019 Hawkesbury Rdr std travelled strongly in the event, but when placed under pressure in the straight, laid out and did not respond to his riding. Add that in his view, the gelding may not have appreciated today's firm surface. Vet exam revealed no abnormalities. Stable Rep concurred with the views of Rdr. Stable rep was satisfied with the post race condition of the gelding.
6 SAVACOOL (NZ) 1/12/2018 Rosehill Gardens Rdr std mount trav fair in early stgs but when under pressure from the 800m he was concerned there was something amiss with mount & eased it fm race rounding h/t. P/R vet rev mare to be displaying cardiac arrhythmia. Trn advised mare had pleased leading into event. Trn advised vet clearance incl ECG, echocardiograph & cardiac troponin test req prior to trialling to Stewards satisfaction before racing again. Vet clearance received. Trialed 3/5/19 & 13/5/19.

11 VELADERO 27/04/2019 Eagle Farm Connections advised that the horse would be ridden in a forward position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.
13 AYLMERTON 4/05/2019 Kensington Rider advised she was not issued with any specific instr & after her mnt began only fairly, she elected to shift behind rnrs to ensure the colt obtained cover. Added trav strongly in early stages & after being taken wider on the H/T, finished the race off fairly. Added in her opinion may be better suited by being held up for one run in the straight. Post-race vet exam rev no abs.
15 SPENCER 4/05/2019 Kensington Shortly after the start, had to be steadied when crowded. Near the 1000m, commenced to race keenly and was checked to avoid heels. Continued to race keenly in the middle stages.

Rdr reported his mount never stretched out throughout the event & was disappointing in its failure to finish the race off. Added was of the opinion mount failed to handle the firm track conditions. 4 OXFORD TYCOON 11/08/2018 Rosehill Gardens Stewards permitted rdr to ride colt 0.5kg over its allotted weight. Rdr std mount trav well in early & mid stgs, however, made contact with another rnr on a number of occasions near 600m. Added mount became under pressure & did not resp in str. PR vet rev no abs. Further vet exam after cooling down found colt to be 1/5 lame in off foreleg. Trn reported colt pleased leading into race & would furnish V/C prior to racing again. Trn since reported vet exam on return to stable rev colt to sustain a minor tear to its near-fore suspensory ligament & would now be spelled. Vet clearance received.
5 TCHAIKOVSKY BOBS Bonus Scheme 1/05/2019 Warwick Farm On jumping was bumped and became unbalanced. Raced wide & without cover from the 800m. Laid out rounding the home turn.

Approaching the 1000m, mare commenced to race fiercely & when awk placed on heels of anth rnr, had to be checked & shifted out & away to avoid that rnr. Continued to race fiercely & pulled its way to the lead after the 800m.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Co-trainer was advised that the performance was deemed to be unacceptable and as such, the gelding will be required to compete satisfactorily in an official barrier trial before being permitted to race again. Trialed Rosehill 13/5/19.

Add approaching the 300m, geld commenced to lay in & was a beaten horse soon after. Add geld then weakened noticeably from the 200m & eased geld down over the latter stages. A post-race vet exam revealed the geld to be lame (1/5) in the off foreleg. Stable rep advised that geld would now be spelled. Vet clearance required.Vet clearance received.

11 MISS QUE 27/04/2019 Hawkesbury Began only fairly. Rdr advised intention was to take up a forward position and with this in mind, he rode his mount from the barrier in an attempt to do so. Said when caught wide in the early stages, he contemplated obtaining a trailing position, but as his mount was racing keenly, he was unable to come back and this resulted in mount racing wide and without cover throughout the event. Add that as a result was not able to finish the race off as well as expected. Post-race vet exam revealed no abnormality.
13 DESERT LORD 6/03/2019 Kensington Began awkwardly. Near the 100m shifted out abruptly when struck with the whip. Rider accidentally dropped his whip approaching the 50m.
14 LA CHICA BELLA 1/10/2018 Kensington Rdr std he was able to obt a prominent pos as anticipated. Added mount trav satisfactorily until appr 300m when it came under pressure whereby mount did not respond & weakened noticably over the final 200m. Post race vet did not rev any abs. Trn advised will now confer with owners re; immediate racing future. Trainer advised that there were no adverse issues following the disappointing performance and that he was satisfied with the mare's post-race condition.
17 GOT THE GOSS 2/05/2019 Wagga Held up from the 500m until passing the 200m. Raced in restricted room for some distance near the 100m.

3 MANHATTAN MIST 1/12/2018 Kembla Grange Rdr std when caught wide & without cover in early stgs he elected to allow his mount to stride fwd & obt a pos outside the leader near the 1200m. Added as he had to make some use of his mount to obtain this position outside the lead, mount was then left without a finishing effort & weakened noticeably over the final 100m. Post race vet rev geld to be slow to recover.
5 ASTERIUS 2/02/2019 Rosehill Gardens Rdr std mount settled in a mid-field position, as expected. Said near 800m endeavoured to improve, however, was disappointed for a run. As a result was held up for some distance thereafter. Said near 600m was crowded which resulted in mount losing momentum at that point when having to be steadied. Std was then held up for clear running in early part of straight and when out of contention inside 200m rode mount hands and heels. Vet no abs.
6 CHALMERS 27/04/2019 Hawkesbury Near the 1400m, was steadied when crowded. Rdr stated that whilst the gelding was able to finish in fourth place, he was still somewhat disappointed with its finishing effort. Post-race vet exam rev no abnormalities.
7 CHAPELCO 8/05/2019 Canterbury Park When Q’d rdr confirmed he had been asked to ride the gelding in 3rd or 4th position, if possible. He said that after beginning well he anticipated that leaders would draw a margin on the field, which would provide him with an opportunity to take up a position in behind. He said, however, that in the early stages the rnr to his inside maintained its pos one off the fence, which left him travelling wide and without cover throughout, and further back than he had anticipated.
10 GAUGUIN (NZ) 27/04/2019 Hawkesbury Rdr std that, as his mount hung out throughout the event, he was caught racing three wide and without cover, but irrespective, his mount still was disappointing. Post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

He said that his mnt offered little in the way it responded after leading at a moderate tempo and was a beaten horse early in the straight. He said that the way his mnt tired, nonetheless, was disappointing. A post-race vet exam did not reveal any abs.
