Rider stated after being checked in early stages his mount switched off and failed to race truly after that. Added he was of opinion the addition of blinkers to the racing gear of gelding would be beneficial in future starts. Trainer was a warning would be recorded against the gelding. A post race vet exam revealed no abs.

A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have a slower than usual recovery and to be coughing. Trainer was advised the filly would be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of the stewards prior to racing again. Since Trialled.

When questioned Rider explained that although his mount was tardy at the start it was favourably positioned throughout and was slightly disappointing when placed under pressure from the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.

6 TAKING LIBERTIES 5/05/2019 Dubbo When questioned regarding the performance of the mare rider stated that his mount travelled well in the early and middle stages but near the 400m was immediately under pressure and disappointed when weakening noticeably in the straight. Added that he was of the opinion that the mare would take benefit from today’s 1st up run. When questioned regarding the performance Trainer stated that the mare had not been working as well or as keenly this preparation and in her opinion may be coming towards the end of its racing career. Trainer was advised that a warning for a poor perf would be recorded.

Added approach h/t he became held up on heels and shortly after elected to shift to outside of that rnrs heels but when rnr shifted out with it he remained held up on heels for some distance. Added on straightening elected to shift to inside which afforded him clear rning for remainder of race. Stwds advised should have made decision earlier to go to inside. Ride referred to Skill Panel.
