7 GEM DEALER 10/05/2019 Scone When questioned re ride in the early stages, rdr stated he had intended to ride filly with cover in accordance with its normal pattern. However after being caught wide in the early stages, his mount overraced and for this reason he elected to allow it to stride forward. Added after obtaining the lead his mount took charge for a short distance and established a position far more forward than intended.
8 LADY DEMI 3/08/2019 Royal Randwick Bumped on jumping. In the middle stages overraced and was steadied from heels for some distance. Held up for clear running between the 400m and 300m, before shifting to the outside to secure clear running.

15e DRAKE THE PIRATE 28/06/2019 Moruya Rdr reported mount, which was stepping up in distance, pulled hard in the early stages, however relaxed passing the 1000m. Added mount did not respond to riding in the straight & was disappointing. A post-race vet exam revealed a poor recovery rate.
18e TEXAS TARGET 12/08/2019 Lismore Blundered on jumping. Eased when tightened for room rounding the first turn and bumped the running rail. Unable to improve approaching and rounding the home turn when held up on heels.
19e GLAMOUR CRUISE 20/04/2019 Royal Randwick Rdr permitted to ride 1kg over declared weight. Began awkwardly and from wide barrier was shifted behind runners in early stages.

1 VALENTINO ROSSA 10/08/2019 Rosehill Gardens Rdr permitted to ride 0.5kg over. When qst re riding from 600m, rdr std near 600m had to steady mnt from heels. Added whilst had observed rnr to outside, he elected not to place mnt under pressure as it would be difficult to make ground on h/turn if he was racing wide. Std for this reason he elected to improve behind before shifting out to attempt a run between rnrs near 200m. Then shifted to outside near 150m to obtain clear running and mount finished off well. Stewards advised rdr that better option would’ve been to shift out on h/turn to ensure his mnt obtained clear run at earliest opp.
3 CYBER INTERVENTION 3/08/2019 Royal Randwick When qst re perf, rdr adv intent was to ride mnt towards rear of field. From o/side barrier he rode mnt to comply with instr, however with slow early tempo, mnt overraced badly in early stages. Consequently mnt raced wide & cont to overrace until near 1200m where it obtained cover in three wide position. Added mnt travelled comfortably from this pt, however upon entering h/straight was under pressure & failed to finish race off. Added whilst racing manners had not assisted chances, was still disappointing. Post-race vet exam rev no abs. Since passed barrier trial WF 9/8/19.
4 GREAT GLEN (GB) 10/08/2019 Rosehill Gardens Shortly after the start was briefly crowded, was then shifted behind runners in the early stages.
5 MISSYBEEL (NZ) 10/08/2019 Rosehill Gardens Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 300m was disappointed for clear running. Held up for clear running until near the 150m where he then endeavoured to improve to the outside but was unable to secure clear running and raced in restricted room over the final 100m.
6 PLAISIR 4/08/2019 Muswellbrook Slow to begin.
7 ADANA 10/08/2019 Rosehill Gardens When questioned re his riding in the straight, rdr advised that whilst his mount laid in his initial intention was to follow runner into the race. Added that when that runner was unable to improve he elected to shift to the outside to improve near the 250m, however was then disappointed for clear running when positioned behind and from the 100m could not fully test mount to the finish. A post-race vet exam rev no abs.
8 THE PROMISE 10/08/2019 Rosehill Gardens After being slow to begin was then hampered when taken in and as a result had to be eased from heels. Between the 400m and the 200m was held up for clear running.

3 TRUE DETECTIVE 3/08/2019 Royal Randwick Rdr exp intent was to be more forward but after jumping awkwardly & losing ground he settled towards rear of field. Added in mid stages whilst there was an opportunity to hold midfield position to inside, he elected to allow that rnr to cross so he could follow fancied rnr & avoid being dictated to when able to start forward move. Added after following fancied rnr into home straight, he improved to outside, however mnt inclined to lay in in early stages of straight before finishing race off reasonably well.
4 MANDELA 3/08/2019 Royal Randwick Slow to begin. Shifted in slightly when racing greenly approaching the 150m. Rdr explained his intention was to be more forward, but after commencing awkwardly and losing ground, he settled towards the rear of the field. Stewards approved application for gear change as stable advised they were pleased with the colts work with the addition of blinkers on & winkers off.
8 EDISON 3/08/2019 Royal Randwick Began awkwardly and was bumped shortly after. Approaching the 150m shifted out and made heavy contact with another rnr. Relegated to 3rd on protest.

1 ATTENTION RUN (GER) 3/08/2019 Royal Randwick When qst, rdr advised that the mare, which was wearing a barrier blanket for the first time, was leaning on the side of the barrier & as a result missed the start. Consequently mnt settled towards rear of the field & from the 700m she endeavoured to make a forward move, however, after shifting to the outside the mare was inclined to lay in on several occasions & became awkwardly placed on heels. Added in her opinion mare became one-paced when endeavouring to improve, found it difficult to build momentum & would benefit being stepped up in distance.

7 INVINCIBLE GEM 10/08/2019 Rosehill Gardens When questioned as to why he shifted to the outside of winner near the 150m when he had initially been positioned to inside, rdr stated that he was of the view that runner would shift in and to avoid haulting his momentum he elected to shift to that runners outside to ensure his mount was given an uninterrupted run to the finish.

He added that in his opinion filly may be better suited when being ridden in the lead, however, he felt today's disappointing performance was due to the filly having reached the end of its preparation. 6 BROOK MAGIC 29/06/2019 Rosehill Gardens When quest, rider said that whilst he was not issued with any specific instructions, it was intended for the mare to race prominently. He said that pre-race he had hoped he would be able take up a position behind rnrs. He said that when another rdr commenced to restrain his mount, he elected to ease back in the early stages to avoid travelling wide and without cover, which resulted in racing in a mid-field position. Rdr said, however, that in his opinion the mare was not suited by the track conditions.

8 NOTATION 20/07/2019 Royal Randwick Overaced in the middle stages. When rdr qst re his riding near the 500m, he advised that he had followed another rnr throughout the event & was mindful of not making a run too soon on his mnt to ensure the best chance to finish the race off. He attempted to shift out to improve near the 500m but was unable to do so when another rnr had improved past his mount & held a tight line. Consequently the filly was held up for clear running until near the 200m. Rdr agreed on an error of judgement in not commencing to shift out sooner.
