When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider stated that the gelding which raced wide and without cover throughout, was inclined to hang out rounding the home turn. She said that the gelding was then inclined to lay out in the straight and in her opinion did not handle today’s dirt track. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

17e LITTLE CAESAR 3/08/2019 Coonamble When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider stated that he had anticipated the gelding settling closer today, however after beginning only fairly and when runners to his outside showed superior early speed, he elected to allow his mount to settle in a position off midfield with cover, rather than being caught wide. He added that the gelding travelled comfortably throughout, however responded only fairly to his riding in the straight and in his opinion would be better suited to races up in distance. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be slow to recover

6 CARINDA ROAD 3/08/2019 Coonamble When qtd re his riding in the early stages, rider std that from a wide barrier he endeavoured to restrain his mount in the early stages, however when the gelding raced intractably in the early stages, he elected to allow his mount to stride forward in an effort to avoid overracing at the rear of the field. He said that after allowing his mount to stride forward, and assume a pos on the speed, his mount failed to travel well enough to be able to cross runners to his inside and was therefore obliged to race wide and without cover for the remainder of the event. A post race vet rev no abs.
