Std when positioned with cover filly commenced to race fiercely & for some dist after 1300m was obliged to continually check away from heels. Add when placed under pressure from 600m filly did not respond & was disappointing, however he recommended to connections that it be stepped up in dist, whereby it may settle in a more prominent position & race more tractably. Post-race vet exam - no abnormalities.
8 PLUS BELLE LA VIE 30/06/2018 Newcastle Had to be steadied away from heels when crowded passing the 1400m. A post race vet exam did not reveal any abs.

3 IF BY CHANCE (NZ) 30/06/2018 Newcastle Pulled hard in the early stages & had to be steadied & shifted away from heels rounding the turn near the 1000m. Rdr cautioned for raising his whip arm above shoulder height.

When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance, trainer stated that the mare had disappointed in its first start for his stable at Muswellbrook on 17 June 2018. He stated that following this run he increased the intensity of its trackwork and he felt that this, along with the increased distance of today’s race and the soft track conditions, were the principal reasons for the mare’s improved performance.

10 MACMISSILE 20/02/2018 Wyong Trn interviewed re suitability of geld to race today & whilst geld has always been lightly framed, in his opinion the geld is suitable to race & its condition is indistinguishable to that of its prev starts. The club's vet conf whilst geld is in light condition she was unable to detect any obvious abs & therefore Stewards permitted gelding to take its place in the field.

10 MULBERRY LANE 3/07/2018 Gosford A post-race vet exam of mare, which was beaten 22.5 lengths, revealed no abs. Trainer was advised that warning would be placed on the mare’s record for being uncompetitive. Trainer was also advised mare must establish competitive form in the country before being allowed to race at the metropolitan and provincial areas.

10 ZARSIS 2/03/2018 Port Macquarie Post race veterinary examination of the mare which weakened badly over the final 300m found it was displaying a slow recovery. Trainer reported (5/03/2018) that the mare had recovered well, but it would leave his stable.

13 TAVISKY (NZ) 25/04/2018 Cessnock Raced wide & without cover throughout the event. Hung in in the early part of the straight & approaching the 200m shifted in abruptly, resulting in its rider becoming unbalanced.
13 TAVISKY (NZ) 7/05/2018 Gunnedah Was withdrawn at 4.48pm when found to be 1/5 lame in the off-hind leg by the club’s veterinary officer at the start. VET CERT PTNRS. Vet clearance received.
14 DARK ELIXIR 1/07/2018 Taree Rider stated that whilst she was given the option to lead, she was instructed to obtain cover if the tempo was genuine. She stated that when the tempo in the early stages was in her opinion fast she allowed two runners to cross her mount approaching the first turn, where it travelled well.
